Can You Get Rid of Acne Scars?

Having acne scars is terrible. Once you’ve done dealing with acne itself, now these scars appear as a reminder of what you went through. Most of the time though, acne scars appear as a result of picking the pimples to get rid of them.

Yes, you can get rid of acne scars; thanks to advancements in technology, nowadays you can find great options to finally say good bye to those scars that haunted you every time you look at yourself in the mirror. Right now the best treatment for acne scar removal is laser treatment; but because of its effectiveness , it is also the more costly.

There are other types of treatments available, that are still costly but not as laser resurfacing. They were the preferred methods to get rid of acne previously, but they are considered invasive. We are talking here about microdermabrasion and chemical peeling. The latter, requiring you to put chemicals in your face that will peel of the top layers of the skin and allow re-growth. Both of these treatments lack also the precision you can achieve with laser therapy.

Well, from what I’ve seen, these creams are effective for a small number of scars: mild scars. Yes, we are not going to name brands here, and we will say that have not tested them all, but I think better working creams may be the ones recommended by your doctor – if he/she recommends one!

Acne Scarring Removal Naturally?

When searching for methods for acne scarring removal, you might come across some homemade treatments based on natural products. These treatments are aimed mostly at helping eliminate mild acne scars, fading them over time. For example for this purpose, baking soda is used as a way to exfoliate he skin and help you get rid of dead cells and damaged tissue on the outer layer of the skin. Vitamin E is also used to nourish the skin and revitalize it.

However, know that these methods are not effective at all to treat deep acne scars. It can help you in some way with the health of the skin, but scars simply won’t go away. For deep acne scars, more aggressive methods will be needed; we are talking here mainly about laser acne scar removal, microdermabrasion and chemical peeling.

Another thing good to keep in mind when it comes to acne scar removal naturally depends greatly on the persistence of the treatment. People who have had success with these options, apply treatment religiously, so you have to commit with it, and results are expected in around 3 months for mild acne scars.

A great number of people suffer or will suffer from acne at one stage of life. A dermatologist will be better qualified to give specific advice, but among the most effective treatments we have: chemical peel for acne (application of chemicals to the outer layer of the skin), dermabrasion, which uses small crystals to remove outer layers of the skin and fractional laser therapy – this one being the most expensive but the most effective of all.

What Are The Best Acne Scar Removal Treatments?

Over the years, many methods have been developed to learn how to get rid of acne. The most used and most effective acne scar removal treatment sin the last decades were dermabrasion and chemical peel. They helped by acting in the outer layer of the skin, giving the skin a smoother, brighter appearance. They were clearly the best acne scar removal treatments, but many people preferred to stay away from them, since they didn’t really know how “healthy” was damaging your skin or putting chemicals in your face.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I prefer to stay away from chemicals and always opt for natural alternatives, that’s why I used to stay away from peels, despite them being considered as one of the top treatments out there for acne marks.

More recently, a new method to eliminate acne has been developed. It is called fractional laser therapy, and thanks to the aid of a laser, correction on the scars will take place on a deeper level. This has brought me some amazing results. From what my doctor told me, the use of laser can be used with incredible precision, so this treatment is applied only on the scars and on damaged skin; this means that from the start you get rid of one of the problems of a peel or dermabrasion: the lack of accuracy in dealing with scars.

Now, I have to tell you that this method is rather expensive. As a matter of fact, before going to the doctor, I consulted my health insurance plan to see if I could ease the payment, but I found out that most insurance companies do not cover this type of treatment in their plans. A full face treatment costs around $1,200 and you have to go for more than one session.
